Wilfred Haaijer

Originally from Groningen, but for 30 years now settled in dynamic Rotterdam. After my Environmental Health studies I enjoyed working for Rijkswaterstaat, in heavy industry and in international maritime contracting. In my career I have always been looking for answers to the question “how do you make people feel connected to the organization and willing to go for challenges together?”

This brought me to Ami after almost 25 years as a freelancer. Because Ami’s mission and vision aligns beautifully with my passion to connect people to shared challenges and goals.
I love being able to contribute to a challenging change adventure, with an ambition that calls for a reassessment of an organization’s values or moral compass. Such as integrating in the values of safety and sustainability, for example. Whereby a common intrinsic perception arises from ‘Care for each other’ and ‘Care for the environment’. This requires ambition, vision and tenacity. Characteristics that warm my heart and have a nice personal overlap with my passion for endurance sports. Namely working towards a goal with tenacity and focus.

I am convinced that connection is one of the factors to be successful as an organization and to cope with all the changes that the current times demand. In connection with the goal, and in connection with each other. With shared and understood values. Where employers love to work, because their contribution is being valued and they are energized from creating and realizing goals together. With my 25 years of ‘Engage experience’ in change programs, I contribute to realizing monumental ambitions together.
