Underground infrastructure in the province of Zeeland

Climate change, the energy transition and the huge demand for housing have created a massive increase in the demand for energy and water. This prompted Stedin and Evides to join forces in the province of Zeeland and introduce framework agreements in the market. How did MVOI successfully bid for tender in this project?

Stedin and Evides aspire to significantly improve efficiency – which basically means getting a lot more work done with the same people and the same resources. In its proposal, MVOI translated this into a targeted approach to innovate workflows and processes and build a culture of learning together, while dedicating its efforts in the province of Zeeland towards making, and keeping, the scarce resources appealing. They combined this with a professionalization plan designed to enable the amount of scheduled work to be doubled while simultaneously keeping it manageable. Both this approach and the proposal received excellent feedback and resulted in MVOI becoming one of the two framework contractors.

The job of Ami’s Arleen Lahnstein also after the award of the contract, the process of successfully realizing the intended efficiency gains with Stedin and Evides and the two framework contractors.

Ami has been involved since the start of the tender process in establishing and developing a method for improving efficiency. We do this by sharing ideas and creating the plans, and by assisting MVOI in taking the necessary steps towards professionalization, starting during the tender process. Ami translated the idea of “building a culture of learning together” into a leadership program, along with KPIs to be able to manage “learning together” (and intervene where necessary). We also introduced specific initiatives to encourage people to learn from best practices. The purpose, then, is to ensure this approach aligns with the needs and potential of Stedin and Evides as closely as possible.

“Getting more work done with the same number of people: that’s a challenge we solve by dedicating all our energies to building a learning culture that’s conducive to innovation and professionalization.”
